The seventh Gidea Park study day will take place on Saturday 17 March. Dr Clare Watkins, Reader in Ecclesiology and Practical Theology at the University of Roehampton, will lead a workshop entitled ‘The Catholic Vision of Marriage’.

The day will provide an opportunity to think more deeply about the theology and living of marriage and family from a Catholic understanding. Drawing on Amoris Laetitia, and the longer Church tradition, Clare will present an integrated vision of theology and practice, and encourage participants to reflect on their own particular engagement with the challenges and blessing of this fundamental area of marriage and family life.

Dr Watkins’ work has focused on lay living in the Catholic church, and ecumenically, with a particular interest in practice-based theologies of baptism, marriage and family. She has worked with Marriage Care, and the Bishops’ Conference Department for Marriage and Family Life on a number of projects.
