The Commission for Evangelisation and Formation (CEF) was created in January 2007 and was officially launched in May 2007. The commission and has a wide and developing remit.
In the synagogue at Nazareth Jesus says "The Lord has sent me to evangelise the poor." (Luke 4:18)
Pope Paul VI, in his great encyclical "Evangelisation in the Modern World" (Evangelii Nuntiandi), described Christ as the greatest evangeliser.
Pope Paul also teaches that evangelisation is the special grace and vocation of the Church.
"Our Vision is to help every member of our Diocese to appreciate more deeply their role as an evangeliser and to enable them to carry out that calling." — Commission for Evangelisation and Formation
