Introducing the Liturgy Commission
The Liturgy Commission is the statutory body set up by the Bishop to advise him on all matters of liturgy and assist him in the encouragement and implementation of sound liturgical practice and the stimulation of liturgical growth, development and awareness throughout the diocese.
The Diocesan Director of Liturgical Formation and the specialist sub-committees advise on and assist with the appointment, training and use of liturgical ministers, church music, art and architecture and the development of pastoral liturgy at all levels.
The Diocesan Master of Ceremonies and the Director of Liturgical Music work closely together to offer a service of advice and assistance in the planning and execution of all major diocesan liturgies, as well as liturgies for parishes, schools and other communities.
By the provision and resourcing of courses and the sharing of experiences and expertise its Commissioners seek to promote a lively interest and the full and active participation of all the faithful in the Church's liturgy, which is the source and summit of all Christian life.
