Fr Adrian Graffy, parish priest and member of the Pontifical Biblical Commission, will be giving a short talk at 7 pm on Wednesday 3 December at the Catholic parish of Christ the Eternal High Priest, in Gidea Park. The topic is the Prophets. It is the third in a series of talks designed specifically for those who have the task of reader/lector in the Catholic liturgy.
Perhaps among the most difficult texts of the Scriptures are those of the Prophets, but they are also among the most enriching. In this talk Fr Adrian explores a selection of readings from the books of the Prophets which are heard in the Liturgy of the Word, with a view to encouraging readers to become more familiar with these fascinating texts. The talk is both for readers, and for all who cherish the Liturgy of the Word at Mass.
Tea and coffee will be available from 6.30 pm. The parish church is close to Gidea Park station, which is on the Elizabeth Line. Five minute walk to the church. This is an in-person event, but is also available via live stream free of charge at www.whatgoodnews.org
No prior booking necessary. The talk will be available subsequently on the same website.
