This course has been designed to enable Diocesan Headteachers to develop their understanding of the role of the Catholic school within the mission of the Church, to gain insight into the complexities of headship in a Catholic institution and understand how the Diocese supports them in their work.
Five sessions will run from September 2025 to May 2026; each session taking place per half term on a Thursday the first will run from 13:30 – 17:00 and the remaining sessions from 15:00 – 17:00, all will take place in the Conference Hall at Cathedral House, Brentwood.
The remaining scheduled dates are as follows:
- 13th November 2025 (#2);
- 5th March 2026 (#3);
- 7th May 2026 (#4);
- 25th June 2026 (#5).

- Understanding roles and responsibilities of the Brentwood Diocesan Education Service (BDES) team
- Catholic School Inspection and the role of the Diocese in Section 5 and 8 OFSTED inspections
