Our Lady of Grace, Chingford is welcoming all to a Parish Mission given by the five Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, based in Canning Town. The first Parish Mission in Chingford for about 60 years, it will run from 18 October to 21 October. On Tuesday 19 October the five Friars will be joined by two Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal who will be travelling from Leeds.
In his previous parish at South Woodford, Chingford parish priest Fr Francis Coveney arranged a similar Mission in June 2017. He says the Friars were due to come to Chingford in March 2020 but it had to be postponed because of Covid.
The Friars will preach at all the Sunday Obligation Masses and at the weekday 9.15am Masses, says Fr Francis, but the main Mission Services will be at 7pm every day from Monday 18 October to Thursday 21 October.
