Girl with violinOn Friday 6 August six-year-old violinist Hermione Duan will be giving her debut concert in Brentwood Cathedral. This will take place at 5.30pm and will last approximately 45 minutes. Hermione will be accompanied by musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra who will include her violin teacher Jennifer Christie as well as Roderick Elms on the organ and  harpsichord. You are warmly invited to attend.

Hermione’s programme will consist of the following pieces:-

Vivaldi – ‘Spring’ from The Four Seasons (1st movement)

Thais – Meditation 

Pachelbel – Canon

Bach – Double Violin Concerto in D minor (Soloists: Hermione Duan and Jennifer Christie)

Due to Covid restrictions the Cathedral has been unable to hold its popular twice monthly lunchtime recitals this year. It is hoped that this concert will be the start of many. In order to get an idea of the number of people attending and due to much interest, tickets are being issued and can be obtained by emailing Margaret MacLeay at [email protected]

Tickets can be collected on arrival at the Cathedral. As usual, there will be no admission fee.

The wearing of masks is obligatory and seating will be in accordance with recent regulations in force for attendance at the Cathedral.
