The Mid Essex Deanery invite you to join them in the annual Corpus Christi Procession, through the streets of Chelmsford on Sunday 12th June 2019 at 3pm. Starting at Our Lady Immaculate School, New London Road, Chelmsford, the Holy Eucharist is held in a processional monstrance carried by Abbot Hugh Allen and priests from the Mid Essex Deanery. The procession is accompanied by a marching band, Catholic groups and organisations, First Communion children, lay people and their families. It will continue down London Road into New Writtle Street, Moulsham Street and Southborough Road, finishing with Benediction in the OLI school playground. Participants – and those unable to complete the distance of the procession – are invited to refreshments of coffee, tea and cake afterwards.

Processing through the community with the Blessed Sacrament near the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ is a venerable Catholic tradition, demonstrating Catholic faith and belief in the real presence of the risen Christ.
