On Saturday 19 January 2019 Mgr David Manson, parish priest at Braintree and past vicar general of the Diocese, will be giving a talk on “The Spirituality of Pope Francis” at Cathedral House Conference Centre, Brentwood.  The event will run from 10.30am-12.00 noon.

Fr David spent time on a retreat at a Benedictine monastery studying Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation Gaudete et Exsultate (Rejoice and be glad), on the call to holiness in today’s world. “I have also been reading Austen Ivereigh’s book The Great Reformer: Francis and the Making of a Radical Pope, and I thought of putting together a talk on the subject,” he says. “When I suggested the idea to the audience at the last spirituality talk I gave, there was a resounding ‘yes’.”

The first part of the talk will give an overview of Pope Francis’ life and spiritual vision, while the second will dip into Gaudete et Exsultate, he adds.

All welcome.
