Parish Mission 2018

Our Lady Immaculate and Holy Name, Chelmsford invite you to come along during the Parish Mission next week to hear inspiring speakers. All the talks take place at 8pm in Our Lady Immaculate Parish Hall

Monday 11th June – “God and Science” – Fr Andrew Pinsent

Fr Andrew, who is Research Director at Oxford University, was a physicist working at CERN before he became a priest. With a first class degree in physics and a D.Phil in high energy physics from Merton College, Oxford, three degrees in philosophy and theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and a further Ph.D. in philosophy from Saint Louis University, he is powerful speaker.

Tuesday 12th June – “God and our Mission” – Mgr John Armitage

Mgr John is the Rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham and formerly Vicar General of our diocese. He is an excellent and engaging speaker.

Wednesday 13th June – “God and Culture” – Dr Jacob Phillips

Dr Jacob Phillips is an affiliate of the Benedict XVI Centre for Religion and Society at St Mary’s, Strawberry Hill, and Programme Director for Theology. He completed his PhD at King’s College on the Theology of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate modules at King’s College London, Roehampton University, and Winchester University. His knowledge and wisdom make him a powerful speaker.

Thursday 14th – “God and Public Witness” – Caroline Farrow

Caroline is originally from Chelmsford! She is a Catholic broadcaster, media commentator and columnist. She is the mother of five and wife to a Catholic priest working in the diocese of Arundel and Brighton. She has made numerous appearances in the media defending the Catholic Faith. Her depth of experience makes her an engaging speaker.
