CAFOD Brentwood’s Chris Driscoll writes:

CAFOD marchThis September, world leaders meet at two crucial summits to discuss the refugee crisis. This is the biggest opportunity of 2016 to show our government and the world that we care about refugees. A large and varied group of organisations are working together to host a march in central London. Please join CAFOD, Caritas Social Action Network (CSAN) and others ahead of the march on Saturday 17 September 2016 for a short ecumenical service of prayer for refugees.

The service is from 12pm – 12.45pm at St James’ Roman Catholic Church, Spanish Place, 22 George St, London W1U 3QY – View Map

You are welcome to join us for the march or the service or both. If you can’t join us in time for the service, meet us afterwards at St James’ church and we’ll go to the start of the march at Park Lane together.

We will provide placards, including ones on which you can write your own message of hope. However, please bring your own banners and placards, if you are able, to send a clear message of support and welcome for refugees.

Please invite friends and people from your parish. You can let us know if you will be meeting us at St James’ church by registering here. We don’t need to know which event you will be attending and you don’t need to bring your ticket, but by registering you help us know how many people to expect.

Please do tweet about the march and service using #WeStandWithYou and tagging @CAFOD. More information about the march and rally.
