Cathedral choristers visit Gidea Park

Cathedral Choristers and the Youth Choir from Brentwood Cathedral paid a visit to the parish of Christ the Eternal High Priest in Gidea Park to sing Vespers on the Feast of Saint Patrick. After the Divine Office was completed, they gave a short concert, directed by Andrew Wright, which included many popular religious pieces, some orchestral pieces and finally popular songs such as ‘My Favourite Things’ and ‘Edelweiss’, from ‘The Sound of Music’. Andrew was ably assisted by Art Wangcharoensab and organist James Devor. The evening ended with a collection towards the refurbishment of the sanctuary.

Fr Adrian Graffy, parish priest of Gidea Park, commented: “This was a lovely occasion. We were delighted to welcome the singers and musicians. They were very pleased with the acoustic of the church, and the plentiful parking. We hope they will come again soon.”
