The National Deacon Assembly – still time to book

Deacon Mark Woods of the National Diaconal Conference writes:

The National Deacon Assembly will be held on 2-4 September 2022 at Liverpool Hope University – and there is still time to book.

The theme for the 2022 National Deacon Assembly is ‘50 years and counting. Permanent Diaconate – past, present….future’. It marks the renewal of the permanent diaconate as an active, permanent order of ministry and looks forward in a changing world to how the diaconate will continue to be “a driving force for the Church’s service or diakonia toward the local Christian communities and a sign or sacrament of the Lord Christ Himself” (Paul VI, Apostolic Letter Ad Pascendum, Introduction).

The keynote speakers are Mgr Paul McPartlan, Deacon Gerald Dupont and Deacon John Morrill.

Issues with the booking website have now been resolved and the booking deadline has been extended until Sunday 21 August. The late booking charge of £20 is now waived.

To book

The Assembly is open to deacons, diaconal aspirants, men in formation, wives, all clergy – in fact anyone who is interested in the Permanent Diaconate.

Please note that the Hope University Campus is cashless – onsite payments are by credit or debit card only!

We look forward to seeing you in September at Liverpool Hope University.
