Flavio Vettese, Director of Education for the Diocese of Brentwood, has been awarded a Diocesan Medal in recognition of his outstanding service to the Diocese of East Anglia and particularly for his significant contribution to Catholic education over the past decade.
The medal was formally presented by Bishop Peter Collins of East Anglia during a celebration Mass held at St John’s Cathedral in Norwich on Sunday 14 December 2025.
From 2015 to 2025, Flavio served the Diocese of East Anglia with distinction, first as Deputy Director of Education and later as Chief Executive Officer of the Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Multi Academy Trust. During this period, he played a pivotal role in strengthening Catholic schools across the diocese, supporting school leaders and ensuring that high standards of education were firmly rooted in the Catholic ethos.
Reflecting on the award, Mr Vettese said: “It was an honour and a blessing to receive the Diocesan Medal from East Anglia. I am deeply grateful for the support and collaboration of colleagues, clergy and governors with whom I have had the privilege to work over the past ten years.”
The award stands as a lasting recognition of Flavio’s faithful service and enduring impact on Catholic education in the region.
