Essex Athletics Champions

Recently, St Teresa’s Primary School, Basildon has earned a fantastic achievement. Their pupils competed in the final of Essex County’s ‘Small Schools Athletics Competition’. Out of 120 schools, St Teresa’s students place first. This is St Teresa’s ‘single greatest sporting achievements’ they have ever achieved as a school.

The pupils taking part progressed through the qualifiers and made it right through to the final, where they competed against other schools. Throughout the entire competition, they showed pride and respect to their competitors; being excellent school ambassadors.

The credit for this extraordinary success belongs entirely to St Teresa’s pupils and to Rhys, their sports coach. Rhys has described this achievement as the highlight of his thirteen-year career as a qualified sports coach so far. When someone with that level of experience and expertise says something is the pinnacle of their professional life, you know you are witnessing something truly special.

The boys and girls who represented the school competed brilliantly, showing determination, teamwork, and a spirit of excellence. Congratulations St Teresa’s
