There have been celebrations at New Hall School in Chelmsford as students received their GCSE, A Level and BTEC results, marking an important milestone in their educational journeys and the beginning of exciting new opportunities.
For many students, results day was a chance to reflect on years of hard work, determination and perseverance, and to celebrate alongside the teachers, families and friends who have supported them throughout their time at school.
At Sixth Form level, 91% of students secured their destination of choice, with young people now preparing to progress to leading universities in the UK and abroad, including Oxford, University College London, Durham, Warwick and the London School of Economics. Others have secured competitive apprenticeships as they begin their chosen career paths.
There were many outstanding individual achievements, including Ned Broderick, who achieved three As and an A and secured his place to study Mathematics at Magdalen College, Oxford. Danis Begovic achieved four As and will go on to study at École Polytechnique in Paris, while other students will progress to courses including Medicine, Physics, English Literature and Fashion.
Students also celebrated strong results across vocational qualifications, with New Hall’s first cohort studying BTEC Sport achieving particularly impressive outcomes. Seventy-five per cent of grades were awarded at the highest Distinction level*, with all students achieving either Distinction* or Distinction.
There was further cause for celebration as Year 11 students received their GCSE results. A record 93% of all grades were awarded at grades 5-9, with 58% of grades at 7-9 and 15% achieving the highest grade 9. Students also achieved particularly strong results across STEM subjects and Classics.
Among the individual successes was Francis Bisoni, who achieved an impressive clean sweep of ten grade 9s, alongside an A* in his Extended Project Qualification, which he completed two years early.
Principal, Mrs Katherine Jeffrey, praised the hard work and determination shown by students, recognising not only their academic achievements but also the contribution they have made to the wider life of the school through sport, the performing arts and service to the community.
