More than 200 people are commemorated at Walsingham House at Abbotswick, the diocesan retreat house and home of the Brentwood Catholic Youth Service. Some have commemorative benches or trees while there are also some ashes interred at the site.
Fr Dominic Howarth, who works with the youth team at Abbotswick, says: “For the last two years a memorial Mass has been held here. It is a peaceful and beautiful time for people to remember loved ones. “
This year’s ‘Mass of Remembrance and Commemoration of loved ones’ will be held on Sunday 10 November at 2.30pm.
If you are the friend or family member of someone remembered at Abbotswick, you are very welcome to this Mass, where the names of all those commemorated there will be read out, and a candle lit for each of them.
