Bishop asks parishes to pray for Purfleet dead

Following the tragic deaths of 39 Chinese migrants in a container arriving at Purfleet this week, Bishop Alan Williams has written to parishes asking for their prayers.

The Bishop has asked for prayers to be said in all diocesan churches this weekend for those who have died and for all those affected by this tragic event.

He said: “Please do keep all those whose lives were lost in your prayers and I would be grateful if you would include an intention in the Bidding Prayers this weekend.”
