Caritas site offers one-stop shop on ‘alternative gifts’

As Advent progresses and people begin to think about alternative gifts to give loved ones this Christmas, our diocesan Caritas site has drawn together a number of charity details as a ‘one-stop shop’: https://www.caritasbrentwood.org/christmas/.

Visitors can click through a range of charities to make their choice, including Dogs Trust, homelessness charity Caritas Anchor House, the Jesuit Refugee Service, Crisis, Oxfam, the Trussell Trust, Christian Aid, bccs, SVP and more.

St Mother Teresa of Calcutta said: “It is Christmas every time you let God love others through you.” As part of Advent, we naturally reflect on our Christmas giving. Many charities now offer inventive and wonderful ways to support their work, as a gift to others – you can buy goats or bees, help preserve sections of rainforest, and much more.
