Come and hear Jon Cruddas MP on the politics of the common good

Jon Cruddas MP is to deliver the next Catholic Union ‘Pub Talk’, in conjunction with Catholics for Labour, on 20 March. Cruddas, Labour MP for Dagenham and Rainham, will speak about the politics of the common good, and the contribution of the Catholic Church to Labour’s development as a political party.

Described as one of the Labour Party’s leading intellectuals, Jon Cruddas has recently published A Century of Labour for the 100th anniversary of the first Labour Government.

The event, to be held in London on Wednesday 20 March, is free to attend, but spaces are limited and those wishing to attend need to sign up on Eventbrite to secure a space.

The event on Wednesday 20 March is a joint event with Catholics for Labour and will take place at the Morpeth Arms in Pimlico. Doors open at 6pm, with the talk due to start at 6.30pm, subject to Parliamentary business.

Catholic Union Director, Nigel Parker, comments: “We are really looking forward to hearing from Jon Cruddas. Having been in Parliament since 2001, he has a huge wealth of knowledge and experience.  Working for the common good is something that the Catholic Union is passionate about and I look forward to seeing as many members and supporters as possible for what will no doubt be a very insightful discussion.”
