Holy Family Catholic School in Walthamstow is celebrating another excellent year of GCSE results, with students achieving results that exceed national average pass rates. The school saw improvements across the board, including at the highest grades, reflecting the hard work, determination and resilience of students, alongside the dedication of staff and the support of families.
Headteacher Carolyn Laws said: “We are absolutely delighted with the achievements of our students and immensely proud of everything they have accomplished. The rise in results across the board, including at the very highest grades, is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the sustained effort of our young people, the dedication of our staff and the support of families. Our students have truly lived out our ASPIRE values through their ambition, resilience and commitment. Today is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their hard work and success, and we could not be more proud of them.”
Students achieved particularly strong results in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Drama, History, Religious Education, Spanish and English, with well over a quarter of all grades in each of these subjects awarded at grades 7–9.
Among the individual highlights, Karolina and Olivia each achieved seven grade 9s, while Anita achieved six grade 9s and Elyara achieved five. Karolina said: “I am extremely happy and look forward to the next phase of my education.”Anita added: “I am so pleased that all the hard work can be seen today.”
Head of Year 11, Mr Graefe, praised the students for their achievements and perseverance throughout their GCSE journey. He said: “Our Year 11 students have shown tremendous perseverance and maturity throughout their GCSE journey. They have embraced every opportunity to succeed, and these results are a fitting reward for their hard work. We are grateful to our staff and parents for their unwavering support, and we look forward to welcoming many of our students into the Sixth Form.”
The results mark a significant achievement for the whole Holy Family Catholic School community and provide an excellent foundation for students as they move on to the next stage of their education. The school congratulated all the students, and thanked the staff and families whose support has contributed to another successful year.
