Fr Mark Swires, the Vocations Promoter in our diocese, has written to all parishes ahead of Good Shepherd Sunday (21 April) to ask them to pray for vocations and for those currently training for the priesthood.
Good Shepherd Sunday is also known as the World Day of Prayer for Vocations – and second collections on this day support the education and formation of our seminarians.
Prayer cards bearing a picture of the “laying on of hands” at the recent ordination of Fr Matúš Meleg and a prayer on the reverse side, will be given out.
Fr Mark holds monthly evenings for enquirers at the Cathedral parish and keeps in touch with those who are exploring a vocation. Fr Dan Mason and Fr Patrick Daly will be speaking at evenings in coming months.
