The Campion School is celebrating a remarkable set of A-level and BTEC results, with 56% of A-level grades awarded at A*–B and more than 70% of BTEC grades achieving D* or D. The results are a reflection of the hard work and determination of students, alongside the support and dedication of staff and pastoral mentors, says the school.
Headteacher Mr Larner said: “We are delighted with the incredible improvement in results. Our new Sixth Form leadership team and subject teachers have worked extremely hard to support the students alongside our outstanding pastoral mentors. However, today belongs to the incredible students, some of whom faced unimaginable personal challenges throughout the course, and who deserve these excellent grades.”
Among the individual highlights, Lucy L achieved three A*s and an A, while Alex L and Eve C each achieved three A* 
s. Jordan Thomas achieved two A*s and two As. School Captain Sophia Charalambous and Connie Agg both achieved three Distinction*s in their BTEC qualifications.
The school also celebrated strong performances across a range of subjects, including STEM subjects and economics, as well as humanities and creative subjects such as English literature, art and politics. New Head of Sixth Form, Ms Earley, said: “This set of results shows the continuing trend of solid performance across STEM subjects and economics for which Campion is well known. However, the outstanding results in the humanities show that our school values our creative subjects every bit as much as our STEM.”
Alongside university placements, many Campion students are progressing to prestigious apprenticeship schemes. Joao will be joining J.P. Morgan on its Level 6 apprenticeship scheme, while Jada D, Daniel R, Jack B, Sophia C, Elsie B and Mia M are also progressing to apprenticeship opportunities.
Assistant Head of Sixth Form, Mr Bailey, said: “In a difficult job market, we have put much of our time and energy into careers. Once our students have a clear vision for their future, they naturally turn their attention to their studies.”
Mr Larner added that these were the school’s highest proportion of A*–B grades on record, dating back to 2005. “These results are an important measure of success, but putting students out into the world as empowered voices that have the courage and resilience needed to be successful is even more important. It is the content of their character that makes us most proud, and this cohort have it in abundance.”
