Diocesan teachers achieve CCRS certification

On Friday 3 July at Cathedral House Bishop Alan Williams presented certificates to teachers from across the Diocese who had successfully completed the Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) programme.

Alongside their teaching commitments, participants undertook 80 hours of guided learning at Cathedral House before continuing their studies independently, producing more than 12,000 words of reflections through essays and written assignments. Their dedication and commitment to both their professional and spiritual development were recognised as they received their certificates. “Completing the CCRS is a fantastic achievement,” said John Adams, Secondary RE Advisor for the Diocese.

Congratulating the group, Bishop Alan praised the participants for the hard work and perseverance they had shown throughout the programme. He encouraged them to continue sharing their faith and inspiring those in their care, saying: “You make a lasting difference in the lives of the children and young people you teach.”

Director of Education Flavio Vettese congratulated everyone who completed the programme. “Your achievement reflects not only your commitment to your own formation, but also to the mission of Catholic education and the continued flourishing of our diocesan schools,” he said.
