Your invitation to a ‘wonderful’ BCYS online Advent concert

Fr Dominic Howarth writes:

candles“You are warmly invited to pull up a chair with a cup of tea – or beverage of your choice – and join us from the Walsingham House at Abbotswick chapel on 6 December at 4pm as we present an online concert of carols and readings for Advent.

“The link is www.youtube.com/c/brentwoodcys and you will find more information at www.bcys.net. The concert is free and donations are welcome to support the work of the Brentwood Catholic Youth Service (www.bcys.net/donate) and the Trussell Trust (which supports and runs foodbanks across the Diocese). The concert will subsequently be available online throughout Advent.”

He says: “Last Thursday I had the great pleasure of spending the day in the chapel here as four of our team and staff, who are gifted young musicians and singers, rehearsed and recorded the Advent carol concert. Interspersed with Bible readings, poems and reflections, the music will be a wonderful preparation for Christmas, especially for anyone ill, housebound or in isolation. If you have a ‘phone tree’, WhatsApp group, or other means of contacting others, it would be lovely to let them know about this, as a way to brighten their Advent.”
