Please support the work of BCYS

National Youth Sunday falls on the Feast of Christ the King this weekend. It celebrates the young people in our Church and all who accompany them. Within our Diocese the Brentwood Catholic Youth Service (BCYS) and Walsingham House at Abbotswick offer retreats, pilgrimages and many other events for many thousands of young people every year; most of the work is led by volunteers, trained as young leaders in the Church. The BCYS also supports diocesan catechists and school lay chaplains and accompanies sick pilgrims to Lourdes every year.

This weekend a speaker at almost every parish in the Diocese will tell people more about the BCYS and there will be a collection for their vital work. Those who wish to support the BCYS can also donate online at www.bcys.net/donate.

Fr Dominic Howarth, who leads pastoral formation and youth work in the Diocese, says:  “This a great moment to encourage the young, and those who support them as parents, grandparents, teachers, catechists, youth leaders and priests. Please donate if you can. Thank you for your support and encouragement.”
