Volunteer for a year of opportunity

Retreat centre Walsingham House at Abbotswick is recruiting for its Volunteer Team 2020-21. It is currently looking for young adults aged 18+ either currently in year 13 or coming to the end of their degree or apprenticeship, who would like to take up a gap year opportunity like no other.  Says Co-ordinator for Walsingham House at Abbotswick Joe Beattie (right): “You will live alongside nine other people your age at our beautiful house in the countryside and lead retreats for over 7,000 young people, from ages 10-18 and help them engage with their faith in a new way.” Over the year the volunteers will develop communication and public speaking skills whilst growing in faith and friendship, he says. Accommodation, food and two trips abroad are all included.

“Working at Walsingham House is an opportunity for the next generation of leaders within our Church to grow in their own personal faith and develop skills that will help them progress in their professional life afterwards; whether they go to university, into an apprenticeship or into full-time work,” adds Joe.
